Who is HeyGanz?
HeyGanz is created by Ganz Ramalingam, a senior VFX educator with over 24 years of industry & teaching experience. He created North America’s first full-time compositing program and has trained over 240 artists from 44 countries across more than 15 years of teaching. His students have gone on to work at studios such as ILM, WETA, MPC, DNEG, Framestore, Sony Imageworks, and other major VFX studios worldwide. HeyGanz was built to make fundamentals clear, practical, and accessible to artists at the start of their journey.
Who are the instructors at HeyGanz?
HeyGanz instructors include former students and experienced VFX educators who are currently working at top studios around the world. Many are senior artists in their respective fields and return to teach what they’ve learned since graduating. Each instructor shares practical knowledge based on real production experience, with a focus on clear fundamentals.
What is included in a subscription plan?

Do I need prior experience with Nuke?
No. HeyGanz is designed to explain Nuke fundamentals clearly, even if you’re just starting. While we’re actively building a comprehensive Nuke guide over time, you don’t have to wait. We already include a full Nuke 15 course recorded for students of Alpha Chromatica, so you can get up to speed right away while new lessons continue to roll out.
What is a pre-course?
A pre-course is a complete course that was originally recorded for students of Alpha Chromatica and is available on HeyGanz now.
These courses are lightly edited for easy viewing and are designed to get you up to speed immediately.
Over time, we’re re-recording them with improved audio, human-vetted subtitles, and deeper coverage.
As soon as the high-quality recordings are complete, they will replace the pre-courses automatically.
How long are the lessons?
Every lesson on HeyGanz is under 3 minutes. Each video focuses on a single concept, includes subtitles, and is guided clearly by the instructor so you can follow along without getting overwhelmed.
Can I cancel any time?
